\nWith all the stories<\/a> hitting the internet these last 2 weeks of accidental App or in-App purchases, racking up a sweet few thousand Dollars, I thought it only appropriate to inform everyone about how to manage your payment method for your iTunes account.<\/p>\n

\nIn order to change your payment method to, or from a credit card, simply open up iTunes.<\/p>\n

\nSelect your account in the top-left corner and choose “Account”<\/p>\n

This will show you all your details relating to the account in question, including the payment method. Choose “edit” next to your payment method.
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

\n<\/a><\/div>\n

\nFrom here you will be able to change the method completely, maybe switch from CC to None, or vice versa.<\/p>\n

\nEither way, be sure you know which method you have chosen last, and change it when necessary.<\/p>\n

\nOf course, there are a couple of other things you should keep in mind when letting the little monsters use your iPad\/iPhone for “educational” games.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Restrict in-app purchases.<\/b>
\nOn the device, go to Settings<\/i>, Restrictions<\/i>, Enable Restrictions<\/i>, choose a passcode, and enable 2 settings:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. In-App purchases<\/li>\n
  2. Require password – Immediately or in 15 minutes (remember the password for 15 minutes)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    \n<\/a><\/div>\n
    \nDon’t give your iTunes password to the kids<\/b>. Maybe to your wife.<\/i><\/div>\n
    \n<\/div>\n
    \nUse Gift Cards<\/b><\/div>\n
    \nIf you want to control how much certain family members spend on their (your) iTunes account, purchase<\/a> iTunes gift cards with a pre-loaded amount on.<\/div>\n
